What is the AES?
The Audio Engineering Society at U of I is part of an international organization whose purpose is to unite everyone interested in audio. AES members are interested in a huge array of different topics - home audio, car audio, acoustics, signal processing, electronic music, sound recording, etc. We bring in guest speakers from the audio industry, hold events, do demos, go on tours of audio facilities and most of all, we have fun.
Mission Statement:
The Audio Engineering Society at UIUC has set two main objectives:
1) To promote the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign as a source of employees for audio companies nationwide.
2) To promote the study of varius fields within audio engineering, and to help provide the means for students to pursue audio engineering as both a hobby and a profession.
Join AES:
Although everyone is welcome to attend all meetings and events, we highly
recommend becoming a student member of the AES. Our budget is determined by the
number of student members in our section. Only student members can vote in AES
elections or hold offices. Most importantly, it will help you get connected.
Read what AES has to say about
helping student members.
